Palitra Media Holding

The history of Palitra Holding dates back to 1995 when the first newspaper "Kviris Palitra" was published. Since 1995, single print media has developed into the largest multimedia holding in Georgia. Today, the holding consists of 14 print media, more than 20 digital platforms, radio, television, university, publishing house, book and toy store chains, printing house, paper distribution company, advertising and event companies.

The mission of Palitra Holding is to provide variety of information relevant to life such as political, business, educational, cultural, sports and entertainment news through print and internet media, radio, television and books to people of all ages and social strata in Georgia.

Palitra Holding currently unites such well-known brands in Georgia as "IPN.ge", "BPN.ge", "ambebi.ge", "Biblus", "Palitra L", "Hotsale", "University of Business and Technology", etc under its diverse portfolio. Palitra Holding is the founder of the Start-up and Innovative Business Investment Fund and a strategic media partner for the fund's portfolio.

Founder

Dimitri Kumsishvili has 20+ managerial experience of working in public and private sectors. In the public sector, Dimitri has held the positions of First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Vice Mayor of Tbilisi, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Minister of Finance since 2012. In parallel, since 2015, as the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia he was responsible for the government’s economic team and the country’s economic development. Under his leadership the economic team had implemented a number of important structural reforms and strategic projects in the country, as a result of which the real GDP growth rate increased from 2.9% to 7.5% during 2015-2018 period.


Since 2013, Dimitri has been actively involved in establishing an innovative / technological ecosystem in Georgia. In 2016, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development created the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology, established startup ecosystem support programs, that are still very active and play a major role in the development of business ventures. During the same period, the first law on innovation was written and adopted.


In the private sector, noteworthy is the Dimitri's 15 years of experience in the banking sector, where he held the position of First Deputy General Director of Cartu Bank for 12 years.  At various times he oversaw the departents of risk management, business development, information technology and marketing. As an active member of the team, he actively used to be involved in the meeting of Board of Directors and in the activities of the Credit and Risk Management Committees.
From 2018, Dimitri continues working in the private sector, firstly he used to held a position of a managing partner of "Synergy Capital".  Since 2020  he is a co-founder and managing partner of "Kedari Ventures". Dimitri is also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of "Green Insurance Georgia" and a managing partner of up to ten different start-up businesses.
