Future Agro Challenge Georgia 2021 has started

On December 3, the Future Agro Challenge Georgia 2021 series of events, organized by the Startup Bureau, supported by the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency and the Georgian Farmers' Association, began.

Future Agro Challenge is an international competition aimed at supporting and empowering startups, innovators, "agropreners", farmers, entrepreneurs, agrotechnologists, agritourism and agriculture stakeholders. The event brings together agro-ecosystem participants from around the world to promote global collaboration, to identify innovations in funded food, agro-technologies, agritourism and agriculture.

It is third year, that the Future Agro Challenge is being held in Georgia initiated by the Startup Bureau and its partners. This year it will be held in Technopark on December 3, 4 and 5.

The event is organized by "Agro Solutions" and the general partners are the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia and "Liberty Bank". Supporters of the event are the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), the Georgian Farmers' Association, the USAID Agriculture Program, DataFest Tbilisi, Sarajishvili, the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) and the UNDP Rapid Development Laboratory.

Applications for participation could be submitted until November 29. Selected candidates can participate in Bootcamp (Intensive Training Program) on December 3-5 or submit their projects directly to the jury on December 5. The national winner - "Agroprener of the Year" - will be revealed among the participants.

The national winner will receive a cash prize of GEL 2,000 (from the Georgian Farmers Association) and access to world-class mentors, investors, potential clients and new market opportunities at the FAC Global Championship, the largest global agro-training summit to be held in Greece in 2022.

Future Agro Challenge is a project that will discover new talents every year and introduce them to the world, ”said Guri Koiava, co-founder of Startup Bureau and co-organizer of Future Agro Challenge Georgia.

According to Irakli Chikava, Commercial Director of Agro Solutions and co-organizer of Future Agro Challenge Georgia, sustainable agriculture is based on modern technologies around the world.

The Future Agro Challenge will again this year host international speakers representing Europe's largest companies, who will speak online about the world’s most pressing threats, challenges and technological innovations in the following areas:

• Sensors and their importance in modern agriculture

• Water and land resources: their scarcity and modern solutions for their optimal use

• Urban Farming - The Future of Food Production?

• Food waste and harvesting technologies

Future Agro Challenge Georgia will be held in the following categories: Food Technologies, Agrotechnologies (Robotics, Drones, etc.) Agriculture & Livestock, Food / Beverage (Product / Retail), Food Access & Sustainability, Food Waste, Nutrition & Health, Safety & Health , Packaging and logistics, agro-education, agro-tourism, production & processing of agricultural products.
